For reasons unknown to me, these are called 'New York' style necks. This particular sax is a little different from most transitional horns as well as the horns immediately and after this series in that the neck does not have a microtuner. Too bad, since I think that is one of the features that should have been kept and emulated by other companies. I've ONLY seen this feature on transitional Conns. But Conn was in the midst of experimenting a bit with design and features. ![]() These are great playing saxes if set up properly. The serial number is in the right range, but also it has a swivel thumbrest. This is one of those 'Transitional' Conn saxes that you hear quite a bit about. I'd just thought I'd point out a couple interesting things about this sax. ![]()
